[Wall] Painted Textures

Painted wall textures capture coated brick and concrete surfaces — solid color layers that show brush texture, roller stipple, and the underlying wall pattern faintly through the paint. It's the look of a wall that's been maintained, not left bare.

What's in this collection

  • Painted concrete — flat coated surfaces with subtle roller texture.
  • Painted exposed brick — paint layered over visible brick and mortar joints.
  • Painted-and-cracked variants — older paint layers showing cracks underneath.
  • Neutral base tones — ready to recolor for any interior or exterior palette.

All tiles are seamless in both directions and delivered at high resolution.

Where Painted Wall is used

Interior architecture. Living spaces, offices, and retail interiors in renders.

Game environment art. Maintained buildings and interiors versus bare structural walls.

Film and photography. Location dressing for lived-in, cared-for spaces.

Product and furniture renders. Backgrounds for interior product photography.

How to use these in Blender

  1. Connect base color and roughness maps to a Principled BSDF.
  2. Use the grayscale map as a subtle normal input for roller texture.
  3. Adjust base color's Hue/Saturation to match your target paint color.
  4. Render a test pass to check the finish doesn't look overly glossy.

How to use these in Unreal Engine 5

  1. Build a Material from base color, normal, and roughness maps.
  2. Use a Material Instance with a color parameter for quick repaints.
  3. Blend with a bare wall material using a crack or wear map as a mask.
  4. Check the result under both interior and exterior lighting setups.

How to use these in Unity

  1. Assign the maps to a Lit material's albedo, normal, and smoothness slots.
  2. Use the material's color tint to adjust paint color without new textures.
  3. Adjust tiling to match your wall mesh's real-world scale.
  4. Preview under real-time lighting to confirm the finish reads correctly.

Tips for Painted Wall specifically

Keep roughness moderate rather than glossy — most real interior and exterior paint has a matte to eggshell finish, not a shine.

A faint hint of the underlying brick or concrete pattern showing through thin paint adds realism that flat color alone misses.

Edge and corner wear, where paint chips first, sells an aged painted wall more convincingly than uniform cracking across the surface.
