[Rubber] Chloroprene Textures

Chloroprene rubber textures cover the synthetic rubber best known from wetsuits and gasket material — a fine, slightly stippled surface with more flex and a softer sheen than standard rubber sheeting.

What's in this collection

  • Textured chloroprene — the fine stippled grain typical of wetsuit material.
  • Rough chloroprene — a coarser variant for older gasket or seal stock.
  • Sheet stock — flat panel surfaces for cut or rolled material.
  • Flex-ready surfaces — tiles suited to curved or draped geometry.

All tiles are seamless in both directions and delivered at high resolution.

Where Chloroprene Rubber is used

Wetsuits and diving gear. Character and prop work for water sports scenes.

Gaskets and seals. Mechanical and automotive close-up detail.

Orthopedic supports. Braces and sleeves in medical or sport visualization.

Padding and cases. Protective equipment cases and tool bag linings.

How to use these in Blender

  1. Unzip the pack into your textures folder.
  2. Load the base color map into a Principled BSDF's Base Color input.
  3. Plug the normal map through a Normal Map node for the stippled grain.
  4. Lower specular slightly for the softer chloroprene sheen.

How to use these in Unreal Engine 5

  1. Import the maps and let UE5 build the material instance.
  2. Wire base color, normal, and roughness into a new Material.
  3. Keep roughness moderate rather than maxed, for the subtle sheen.
  4. Apply to cloth-simulated or curved meshes and check stretch behavior.

How to use these in Unity

  1. Import textures and set the normal map's texture type to Normal Map.
  2. Create a Material with the Standard or URP Lit shader.
  3. Assign albedo, normal, and roughness maps to their slots.
  4. Set Smoothness to a mid value for the material's soft sheen.

Tips for Chloroprene Rubber specifically

Chloroprene catches light differently along seams and curves, so if the mesh deforms — like a wetsuit sleeve bending — make sure the normal map still reads correctly under stretch.

Keep the stippled grain subtle in the base color map; it should be felt more than seen.

Pair with a fabric or nylon trim texture where seams and zippers appear on real gear.
