[Rubber] Grip Textures

Grip rubber textures cover the small raised-dot and diamond patterns found on tool handles, pedals, and equipment grips — a compact pattern designed to be felt under a hand or foot rather than seen from across a room.

What's in this collection

  • Textured grip — the standard raised-dot handle pattern.
  • Diamond grip — a crosshatch pattern common on pedals and steps.
  • Fine grip — a tighter, subtler pattern for small props.
  • Worn grip — a pattern softened by heavy handling.

All tiles are seamless in both directions and delivered at high resolution.

Where Grip Rubber is used

Tool handles. Close-up prop work on hand tools and equipment.

Pedals and controls. Vehicle and machinery interior detail.

Sporting goods. Racket, bat, and bicycle handle grips.

Phone and camera cases. Small consumer product texture work.

How to use these in Blender

  1. Unzip the pack into your textures folder.
  2. Load the base color map into a Principled BSDF's Base Color input.
  3. Plug the normal map through a Normal Map node for the raised dots.
  4. Use a tight UV scale so the small pattern doesn't stretch on props.

How to use these in Unreal Engine 5

  1. Import the maps and let UE5 build the material instance.
  2. Wire base color, normal, and roughness into a new Material.
  3. Keep roughness high for the non-slip rubber finish.
  4. Apply to small prop meshes and check pattern scale at handheld distance.

How to use these in Unity

  1. Import textures and set the normal map's texture type to Normal Map.
  2. Create a Material with the Standard or URP Lit shader.
  3. Assign albedo, normal, and roughness maps to their slots.
  4. Check Tiling carefully since grip patterns are usually quite small.

Tips for Grip Rubber specifically

Because this pattern is viewed up close, normal map resolution matters more here than on large-scale textures — don't downscale the normal map as aggressively as you might for a floor.

Add slight wear to the grip pattern near where a hand naturally rests, since real grips flatten unevenly with use.

Keep the base color dark and matte; grip rubber is rarely a bright or glossy material.
