[Alpha] Color Textures

Color alphas skip the grayscale masking step entirely: instead of a plain black-and-white cutout, each letterform already carries its own solid, glossy hue. They drop straight into a composite as finished type, not a shape waiting to be colored.

Free for personal and commercial use. No attribution required. Commercial games, film, and client work are all permitted. No credit, no backlink, no permission request needed. You may not resell or redistribute the texture files themselves as a texture pack.

How to use these in Photoshop

1. Drag the PNG directly onto your canvas as a new layer.
2. Use Free Transform to scale and kern individual letters by eye.
3. Add a Drop Shadow layer style if the design needs more separation from the background.
4. Group repeated letters as a Smart Object for easy reuse across a layout.

How to use these in Figma

1. Drag each PNG in as its own image layer.
2. Auto Layout the letters into a row to build custom word marks.
3. Nudge kerning manually since these aren't a variable font.
4. Apply a subtle drop shadow effect from the Figma effects panel if needed.

How to use these in After Effects

1. Import each letter PNG as a separate footage layer.
2. Position and scale them into your word or phrase.
3. Animate letters in individually with a stagger for a playful title reveal.
4. Pre-compose the finished word before adding further effects.

Tips for Color Alpha specifically

Because the color is baked in, recoloring means swapping the whole file — check the palette matches your brand before building a full layout.

Mixing Color Alpha with a plain white or black background keeps the saturated hues from clashing with busy imagery.

Kerning by hand takes longer than a real font, so reserve these for headlines and short callouts rather than body text.
