[Tile] Terracotta Textures
Terracotta tile keeps the warm, earthy orange of fired clay, usually left unglazed with a soft, slightly porous surface. It's the texture behind Mediterranean courtyards, rustic kitchens, and rooftop tiles across warm-climate architecture, and it ages visibly in a way glazed tile never does.

What's in this collection
- Rough terracotta — unglazed, porous clay surface.
- Worn terracotta — softened, foot-traffic-polished tile.
- Natural terracotta — even, warm-toned fired clay.
- Aged terracotta — weathered color variation and light staining.
All tiles are seamless in both directions and delivered at high resolution.
Where Terracotta Tile is used
Mediterranean and rustic architecture. Courtyards, kitchens, and villa floors default to terracotta for warmth.
Roofing visualization. Terracotta roof tiles are standard across warm-climate residential renders.
Historical and fantasy settings. Old-world towns and marketplaces rely on terracotta paving and roofing.
Garden and outdoor design. Terracotta flooring pairs naturally with planted courtyards and patios.
How to use these in Blender
- Import base color, normal, and roughness maps in the Shading tab.
- Connect each map into a Principled BSDF's matching input.
- Keep roughness high for terracotta's unglazed, matte surface.
- Use a Mapping node to align grout lines with your floor plan.
How to use these in Unreal Engine 5
- Import the texture set into your Content Browser.
- Create a Material and wire Base Color, Normal, and Roughness.
- Apply to floor meshes or pitched roof geometry.
- Vary tile tone slightly across large areas for realism.
How to use these in Unity
- Add the maps to your Textures folder with correct import types.
- Create a Material using the Standard or URP Lit shader.
- Assign Albedo, Normal, and Smoothness to their slots.
- Keep Smoothness low to preserve terracotta's porous matte look.
Tips for Terracotta Tile specifically
Warm, orange-leaning color grading sells terracotta faster than surface detail — check your lighting temperature first.
Vary tone tile-to-tile; uniform kiln-perfect color reads as artificial for a handmade material.
Add light efflorescence or dust in shaded, less-trafficked areas for outdoor courtyard realism, and let grout darken slightly near drains and low points.
