[Plastic] Vinyl Textures
Vinyl is a printed or embossed plastic sheet, so it imitates other materials while keeping a plastic response to light. Getting that contradiction right is the whole job: wood-look grain with a uniform plastic sheen.

- Vinyl flooring — sheet and plank patterns with printed seams.
- Vinyl upholstery — leather-look grain with a plastic finish.

All tiles are seamless in both directions and delivered at high resolution.

How to use these in Blender
- Load the map into Base Color and keep Metallic at 0.
- Set Roughness low but not glassy, around 0.25–0.35.
- Add a Clearcoat value of 0.2 for a factory-sealed finish.
- Use a shallow bump for the emboss; deep normals break the illusion.
How to use these in Unreal Engine 5
- Import at 2K and keep tiling wide — vinyl patterns repeat over large areas.
- Add a roughness break-up mask so lighting is not perfectly even.
- Use decals for scuffs rather than baking wear into the tile.
- Keep specular at default; vinyl reflects broadly, not sharply.
How to use these in Unity
- Create a URP Lit material with Smoothness around 0.7.
- Assign the emboss normal at low strength.
- Tile 1 to 2 times per metre for flooring.
- Enable reflection probes so the sheen shows room detail.
Tips for vinyl specifically
The emboss pattern rarely lines up with the printed pattern on real vinyl. Offsetting them slightly makes it read correctly.
Vinyl highlights are broad and soft. A sharp mirror reflection turns it into polished plastic or glass.
Wear concentrates in walking lines and under chair legs. Even wear across a floor looks like a filter rather than use.
